I’m just gonna say
1.) love your blog ❤️
2.) I was just scrolling through the old posts and someone said something about actors just being fake.
I’ve been acting and singing pretty much my whole life and the best part of acting, is being something completely different from the person you are offstage. Bringing someone’s fictional character to life and connecting to audience members is the most magical part of performing. You’re taking someone who isn’t real and giving them life through your own experiences. I think acting is the realist thing a person can do because your digging inside yourself to connect with someone who never even existed and if that isn’t the realist work a person can do I don’t know what is.
Rant over
Again, love your blog ❤️

I agree. I’ve heard people sarcastically say that actors are just professional liars and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Unless you incorporate an element of truth or realism into a character, you won’t be able to connect with the audience or truly bring your role to life. Thanks for enjoying the blog!

Don’t even get me started on the exclusion of the four actresses who play Matilda from consideration.

I wanted to make some new posts but memegenerator is down so instead I’ll pose a question:

What’s your favorite/most trusted insider theatre trick? Whether it involves makeup, costumes, warm-ups, rehearsals, finding your light, set building, whatever, what’s your most clever or helpful trick of the trade?
